60 Ton AQ-JMM Slipway Winch in Indonesia
Aicrane successfully installed a 60 ton AQ-JMM friction slipway winch for our customer Mr.Zack in Indonesia. His shipyard already has a 30 ton slipway winch in operation, but the tonnage of the ship it can pull is relatively small. Its maintenance is frequent and maintenance costs are high. The customer is considering building a new slipway site and installing a larger winch to pull large-tonnage ships to expand the customer base of its shipyard business.
During our communication regarding technical solutions, we consistently addressed customer concerns and needs through various means such as technical parameter comparison tables for different tonnage winches, layout drawings of technical solutions, equipment video displays, and face-to-face meetings. We iteratively refined and adjusted the solutions based on feedback. Mr. Zack expressed high satisfaction with our plan upon receiving it. He decided to purchase a JMM 60 ton friction electric slipway winch along with the relevant accessories. The equipment, after more than 60 days of production and assembly testing, successfully reached Mr. Zack’s shipyard on schedule.
Compared to the previous equipment used by Mr. Zack, where operators had to stand for an extended period in the winch room until the entire boat pulling process was complete, we designed and customized a specialized console for the slipway winch. This console, equipped with an LCD display, allows real-time monitoring of relevant equipment data and pulling force data during ship maneuvers. This design not only provides convenience for operators but also enables timely detection of abnormalities.
Currently, Mr. Zack’s shipyard utilizes this JMM slipway for Indonesia for launching new ships and conducting shore repairs on old ships approximately every week, and they express great satisfaction with its performance.
Two 30 Ton AQ-JM Slipway Winches In Nigeria
Aicrane has successfully exported and installed two 30 ton AQ-JM slipway winches and a 5 ton winch at a naval base in Nigeria, enhancing the facility’s capacity for ship maintenance. Specifically designed to effortlessly pull ships weighing up to 250 tons out of the water, the AQ-JM series single drum winch proves to be a cost-effective and efficient solution for slipway operations.
The winch is equipped with a durable galvanized wire rope with a diameter of 42mm, ensuring strength and longevity. Coated with high-quality epoxy paint, the winch boasts a paint film thickness of 200um, providing exceptional protection against corrosion in maritime environments. The AQ-JM slipway winch for Nigeria features a 3-fold rate structure, employing both movable and fixed pulleys. This design, tailored to the ships’ weight of 250 tons and the 7.2° slope of the slipway, ensures optimal efficiency and safety.
In addition to delivering great quality equipment, Aicrane’s skilled engineers went above and beyond by providing the Nigerian customer with a comprehensive package, including a fixed pulley arrangement plan and on-site installation guidance for the 30 ton winch.
