Overhead cranes run on the beam, which will not influence the production process on the ground. Generally, overhead crane can save the labor cost and improve the working efficiency. The lifting speed of the wire rope hoist is higher than the speed of chain hoist, and wire rope hoist has larger size than chain hoist. For the wire rope hoist, the wire rope is wound on the drum, and the chain is stored inside the chain bag for the chain hoist. In addition, chain hoists have compact structure, which can do single-phase electricity.
Generally, gantry cranes are widely used outdoors. In order to ensure the corrosion resistance of the crane, we will perform the following treatments.
- First, for the steel plate of the crane, we will make shot blasting and spray epoxy zinc-rich primer painting after cutting.
- Secondly, there will be base coat, middle coat, finish coat, three layers painting totally. All have high corrosion resistance, strong adhesion features, and a total thickness of 105 micron to ensure that it reaches the ISO standard derusting grade Sa2.
- Finally, we will design rain cover for motors, electrical appliances, and lifting parts to avoid the entry of rainwater.
We adopt epoxy zinc-rich primer, this kind of painting is usually used in coastal and highly corrosive areas, the corrosion resistance is better. Certainly, the cost is a litter higher than general painting.
In addition, before cutting steel plate, we will do shot blasting treatment on it, the surface of components need reach degree Sa2.5 of GB8923 standard, After that, the anti-corrosive primer should be painted at once to avoid rust of the steel surface. By the way, we have three coats of painting, one primer and two finish coats, the total paint film thickness of shall not be less than 80~120μm.
We adopt the non-destructive testing method to welding our cranes, which does not affect the use of the workpiece. The commonly used testing methods are: Radiographic Testing, Ultrasonic Testing, Penetration Testing, Magnetic Testing, and Electromagnetism or Eddy current Testing.
The UT and PT are the most commonly used because they are convenient but only suitable for local inspection. Besides, the large castings or forging parts can only use RT.
